For me, it was when I stepped away from the rhythm of life to care for my grandmother in her final season.

In those quiet, tender days, I witnessed something sacred: the soft power of womanhood passed down, not in words, but in touch, care, and in presence.

That experience broke something open in me.

I had already been making tallow balm by hand, but suddenly, it wasn’t just about skincare.

It was about remembrance. Legacy. A bridge between generations of women who hold each other up through their healing.

Benedita Balm was born from that space.

Founder Story

I was raised in a place where silence was survival.

Where women were told their bodies were shameful. Their voices, too loud. Their purpose, to disappear into service without complaint.

I grew up in a religious cult that taught me to distrust myself—my needs, my wisdom, my body.

Leaving that world behind meant walking away from everything I’d ever known, with little more than a few clothes, a stack of books, and a journal filled with prayers and dreams.

The world was overwhelming and beautiful. I learned, stumbled, healed, and hurt.

I promised myself I would never become the kind of woman who wounds other women. I built a life from scratch. I got married. I chased healing and wholeness.

But everywhere I turned—in jobs, in culture—I met the same lie in different costumes:

"You’re too much. You’re not enough. Your worth is what you produce."

I broke those lies down and wrote in their place a blog—a space for women to heal, feel seen, and take their power back.

Then came one of the most sacred seasons of my life:

I stepped away from business to care for my husband’s grandmother at the end of her life.

She became more of a mother to me than I’d ever known.

In those quiet, holy moments of care, I saw the power of womanhood in its truest form—nurturing, ancestral, unwavering love passed hand to hand.

That’s when Benedita was born.

Not as a product line, but as a living space—for women from every walk of life to gather, to remember, to pass down what is sacred.

Benedita is the balm I never had growing up.

It’s the soft place I wish every woman could fall into when she’s tired of being strong.

It’s what I’ve built my life around.
